Fire and Heat Resistance

Cast iron is flame proof for 4 hours - acting as a barrier to flame expansion. In practice, fire cannot be propagated in cast iron networks, providing greater security for buildings with people. It is well known that in the event of fire the emission of toxic gases/fumes is on many occasions the first cause of death. Cast iron, unlike PVC-u does not emit toxic gases.
