The Environment

The environmental concerns of building materials are quickly becoming a major issue for all involved in the construction industry. But, those specifying, installing and supplying cast iron pipes, fittings and accessories, are working with a material that is not only recyclable and environmentally friendly, but made from almost 100% recycled cast iron.
The extended life span of the system proven to be over 50 years in many buildings, and extremely longer than other materials reduces the use of natural resources and protects the environment.
Greenpeace, the environmental campaign organisation has long been urging a reduction in the use of PVC-u and other plastics in construction. They claim that the production, use and disposal of PVC-u results in the creation and release of large amounts of toxic chemicals into the air, soil and water resulting eventually in the pollution of our food chain and consequently our bodies.
